Jimmy Buffett Fell Off the Stage in His Concert in Sydney, Australia

I am fan of Jimmy Buffet and one of his songs that I really like most is the song “‘Margaritaville.” I was watching a breaking news at Channel 7 and was reported that he had an accident in his concert last night at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney, Australia. Jimmy Buffet fell off from the stage just after completing a wonderful song caught in the video below. There were crowd of nearly 5000 people who were stunned and distraught by the incident.

At the beginning of the video, you can see cars neatly parked on a carpark facing  East Creek. As few minutes unfolds, a raging current of floodwaters rapidly flowed down the stream and swept away a lot of cars.

Assylum Seekers "Boat People" Tragedy at Christmas Island

A very tragic accident dominates the news here in Sydney today. It was reported  that at least 27 people including children died after an assylum seeker wooden boat crashed and shattered in razor-sharp rocks of Christmas Island, a place where Australia processes asylum seekers. This number could go up with fears that about 50 people could have perished. Most of the refugees were reportedly Iraqi and Iranian but it was unclear where their journey originated.

Customs officials confirmed that 42 people had survived the brutal accident.

Watch Australia's FIFA World Cup Bid Video

Like many Australian residents, who are having high hopes and expectations that this beautiful country will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, I am really disappointed to hear the news this morning that Australia lost its bid to the tiny nation of Qatar.
Where in the world is Qatar? Do they play good football out there? Can they match huge football fans here in Australia, United Kingdom or  the United States? Do they have huge Stadiums? Surely, they have the money and they can build the most advance and glamorous stadium.  They can also populate Qatar with all their wealth knowing that Qatar is one of the richest nations in the Arab Nations. They can hire probably Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, or the most famous Holywood Stars to lure people into that country. Or Maybe, they can provide the best accommodation  and services to football fans 24/7 that no one can dream of. Perhaps, free entry, free transport, free food, free return flight via Qatar Airlines! Wow, maybe all of us would be excited to go!
Okay, forget it. No sour graping.  Australians should still be proud of themselves because the world knows how this country can handle huge sporting events like the FIFA World Cup. Here’s a video I found in Youtube uploaded by user stephenvz showcasing Australia’s best and why Australia is ready for this huge event.

Sydney lad Forklift driver Altiyan Childs has just scored a huge step in the music industry winning the first ever X Factor Edition here in Australia aired on Channel 7. Altiyan edged grand finalists Sally Chatfield and Andrew Lawson.

Here is his live rendition of Jon Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer!

Will PM Julia Gillard's Atheist Stand Affect Voters In This Years Australia's Federal Election?

“I grew up in the Christian church, a Christian background. I won prizes for catechism, for being able to remember Bible verses. I am steeped in that tradition, but I’ve made decisions in my adult life about my own views. “I’m worried about the national interest. About doing the right thing by Australians. And I’ll allow people to form their own views about whatever is going to drive their views. “What I can say to Australians broadly of course is I believe you can be a person of strong principle and values from a variety of perspectives.”
Julia Gillard

“I am not going to pretend a faith I don’t feel”
Julia Gillard
This year’s Federal Election will reveal how Australians react on Julia Gillard straight answer about her faith — an atheist. (Sorry, is there an atheist faith?) I’ve been watching Julia in a lot of press conferences and she openly declare that she believes in “climate change” but she doesn’t believe in God.
She mentioned that she grew up in Christian Church (Baptist) and that only proves that a person will not be known as a christian by merely going to church, reading the Bible, or fulfilling religious obligations. It’s like going to McDonald’s which does not qualify one to be a McDonalds burger fanatic. Worst, if you just rely on your feelings.

I wonder if this will a great campaign slogan for the Labour Party or Liberal-National Coalition? Maybe, it’s closer the the latter because the color is blue!

Tony Abbott's Position on Homosexuality and Gay Marriage

Photo of  Tony Abbott from his Campaign Ad

Saturday, August 21, 2010 is Australia’s Federal election for 2010.  Prime Minister Julia Gillard called the 2010 Federal Election during a press conference at Parliament House last July 17, 2010. As of this writing, busy campaigns are underway for both Julia Gillard Labor government and the Opposition led by Tony Abbott who was elected Leader of the Liberal Party in December 2009.

Getting to know the position of government leaders, especially for the position of Australia’s Prime Minister, on controversial issues is really important for every Australian voters out there to be aware of before casting his/her vote on the political party who will lead Australia in the next term.
Here’s Tony Abbott’s position on homosexuality and gay marriage taken on ABC’s Q & A  TV Show . He is quite frank and straight to say that he is against same-marriage.
“Marriage is between a man and woman.” – Tony Abbott
