Reece Mastin Sings Ironic by Alanis Morissette 90s Song Week Live Show 4 X Factor Australia 2011

Isn’t this Ironic?  Reece Mastin doing another girl’s song! He picked Ironic by Alanis Morissette. You can love it or hate it. Reece has a wonderful voice and no question about that. Doing a makeover of a wonderful song is like a double-edged sword. It can be dreadful or can raise up an artist overnight.

Mel B  didn’t like it and she’s not sure if she hated it or love it. Ronan Keating said Reece owned the stage and it was a fantastic performance. Natalie Bassingthwaighte thought Reece was a bit nervous at the beginning but she said it’s her favorite performance. Guy Sebastian said Reece is doing great every week and was just lucky to have him. See it for yourself. Watch Reece Mastin’s 90?s Songs week performance at the live stage of The X Factor Australia 2011.

Johnny Ruffo Sang Meatloaf’s I’d Do Anything for Love 90s Song Week X Factor Australia 2011

The fourth live show of the  X- Factor Australia 2011 last night started of with  Johnny Ruffo sing Meatloaf’s I Would Do Anything for Love.  Again, it’s basically a song and dance style for JohnnyMel B thought Meatloaf won’t be impressed with that performance but despite that, it was a solid performance.   Ronan Keating  didn’t like it. Natalie Bassingthwaighte said Johnny did a good job and his vocal is more solid than the past. Guy Sebastian understandably being Johnny’s mentor added that it suited Johnny perfectly otherwise it will only be a karaoke performance.

Declan Sykes:Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana – Songs of the 90s Week X Factor Australia 2011

T’was a big 90s song that was chosen by Declan Sykes for this week fourth live show of the  X-Factor Australia 2011. He picked the famous rock song ” Smells Like Teen Spirit“  by Nirvana.  Will it suit Declan’s unique style and vocal ability?

He started off with a low key and with a lot of distractions in the background, Declan’s performance is probably weak this week. Mel B started of by saying that she felt that as if somebody spiked her drink and into a weird nightmare and wanting to wake up quick. Ronan Keating got lost and disappeared in that performance. He was disappointed. The production did not work for Declan. Natalie Bassingthwaighte thought the song choice was not good and vocally, it was off. Guy Sebastian defended Declan with the song choice and said he did a great performance.

Did you like Declan’s performance Australia? If he will be singing for his life tomorrow, blame it to the poor song choice.

Christina Parie: Impressive Performance of Zombie by the Cranberries X Factor Australia 2011 Live Show 4

Dubbed as the X-Factor “Rock Chick,” Christina Parie is definitely delivered the strongest performance in the 4th Live Show of X- Factor Australia 2011. It was an amazing performance with all the four judges Guy Sebastian, Mel B, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, and Ronan Keating stand to their feet. It’s the first time in the show for a standing ovation and with the audience so ecstatic.

Christina picked The Cranberries’ Zombie and she sang it beautifully while showcasing her talent on the piano. A very brave performance showing a Lady Gaga‘s style and showing a very different side of her. She will be definitely safe for another week! Enjoy her performance.

Third Decider Showdown and Top 10 Results X Factor Australia 2011

Australian XFactor affectionados voted for the third time and the results were out on the third elimination show last night at Channel 7‘s Xfactor Australia 2011. The acts voted by Australian audience to stay in the competition were:  Andrew WishartReece Mastin, Declan Sykes, Johnny Ruffo, Christina Parie, Three Wishez, Audio Vixen, and Mitchell Callaway.

Ronan’s Boys Team Young Mens Society  and Mel B’s Jacqui Newland were the bottom two this week. It’s really a surprise to see YMS  at the bottom two but that happens when their fans expect too much and don’t vote for their acts. It’s three-in-a-row at the bottom two for Jacqui. Despite that, she showed strength and confidence and put up another brave fight. YMS sang “Change The World” and Jacqui picked “I’m Just A Girl” for the Decider showdown.

Ronan Keating, Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, voted and sent home Jacqui Newland. Mel B voted for Jacqui to stay in the competition.

Audio Vixen Rocked with Good Times by Jimmy Barnes and INXS Live Show 3 X Factor Australia 2011

Audio Vixen pulled-off another great performance last night singing Good Times by Jimmy Barnes and INXS at the The X Factor Australia 2011.  Siblings Maria, 28, Christina, 25, and Ross, 19,  really blend their voices magically and it was such a polished performance. They are not a rock band, but based on their performance, it is likely that they will be safe for the next X Factor Australia live performance next week.

Did they rock it out last night to get enough votes? I bet they got enough votes to stay in the competition.

Johnny Ruffo: Here Without You Live Show 3 X Factor Australia 2011

Johnny Ruffo sang Here Without You by 3 Doors Down for the Rock Week last night. Guy Sebastian‘s  idea is to showcase Johnny’s vocal ability because he can definitely dance. Mel B had this criticism that Johnny is not the strongest singer in the X Factor 2011 competition. Ronan Keating agreed but he said Johnny has  definitely improved.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte commented that she was surprised for Guy to pick a hard song for Johnny and last night performance did not show his best at all. Was Natalie right?  Watch his performance at The XFactor Australia 2011 third live show below.
