Country Star Caitlyn Shadbolt has the chance to showcase her genre on this week’s Killer Hits and Curve Balls Theme. For her first song, which is her killer hit song, is the smash hit Before He Cheats, a record breaking single from Carrie Underwood.

The judges comments were quite good. Nat said: “great performance.Great to see you do what you love!” Dannii said “great song! awesome outfit!”  Redfoo said “this was really really good. Killer track!” Ronan added: “This is your home! You just shown Australia what you can do.”

Reigan Derry Sings Radiohead’s Creep X Factor Australia Week 9 Top 5

Reigan Derry takes on Radiohead’s smash hit, Creep, for her first song of the night at the X Factor Australia Killer Hits and Curve Balls Theme. Reigan was at the bottom two last week and was nearly sent home. This particular performance attracted mixed comments from the judges.

Ronan started of by saying: “There is no denying that when you sing you are incredible but something did not work for me.” Nat said: “I hated this song for you. It’s too aggressive.” Dannii had a long comment and critique on the “over sexualized” outfit. Her Coach Redfoo came to the rescue to lift Reagan spirit’s up.

Brothers 3 Sings Simon and Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence X Factor Australia Top 5

Brothers 3 takes on the legendary “The Sound of Silence,” song by American music duo Simon & Garfunkel. This is their first song of the night at The X Factor Australia’s Killer Tracks and Curve Balls Theme. Their performance drew mixed comments from judges.

Redfoo said: “is that your killer track? oh no! that’s not killing. That’s wounding, if anything…” Ronan said: “you’re charming. you have something that’s unique in Australia. You can’t afford mistakes like this. Keep fighting boys!” Nat said: “That was perfect for you guys!” Their Coach Dannii just had to rant words of encouragement to his boys.

Marlisa Punzalan Sings Judy Garland’s Somewhere Over The Rainbow X Factor Australia Week 9 Top 5

For her second song, her Curve Ball piece, Marlisa takes on “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” a signature song of Judy Garland that has become one of the most enduring standards of the 20th century. Definitely a massive song for Marlisa.

Positive comments from the judges. Nat said: “I believe you will be in the grand final!” Dannii said: “you are having a very good night young lady!” Redfoo said: “This performance moved me!” Her coach Ronan said “it shows how diverse you are. You deserve to make it to the grand finals.”

Dean Ray Sings The Black Keys’ Lonely Boy X Factor Australia Live Shows Week 9 Top 5

Dean Ray was first to perform for this week’s Killer Tracks and Curve Balls theme. For his first song, he performed “Lonely Boy,”  a song by American rock band The Black Keys. It’s definitely not one of his best as evidenced by the mixed comments from the judges.

Dannii said: “that rocked. Dean’s Style!” Redfoo was not so impressed “it was good but it wasn’t great.” Ronan said “something is missing in that performance.” Her coach Nat came to the rescue and said: “I completely disagree.”

Dean Ray closed the Aussie Week Theme of the X Factor Australia with a brilliant rendition of “Into My Arms,”  a song written by Nick Cave.

Another standing ovation for Dean. The judges comments were all positive. Dannii said: “that was epic! Thanks for coming to this competition!” Redfoo added “that was a tough song to sing and you sang it so good! It was really pure.” Ronan said “Oh man, every single week, you just show so many sides.
