Reigan Derry Sings ‘Dog Days Are Over’ X Factor Australia Week 7 Top 7

For this week’s theme, which is the  ‘Judges’ Challenge,’ contestants are challenged to sing songs picked by judges who aren’t their mentors, Nat picked the song “Dog Days Are Over” for Reigan Derry. This song is the second single released by Florence and the Machine.

Commenting on her performance, Ronan started of by saying: “You are amazing every week. That’s probably the best vocal performance. Unbelievable!” Nat said: “you’ve never disappointed.You deserve a recording contract.” Dannii  added “the whole performance is awesome…good combination!” was impressed with the performance. Her Coach Redfoo finally said: “so amazing. so beautiful.”

Redfoo picked the song “Try”  for Marlisa. It’s a song recorded by American singer songwriter Pink for this week’s theme ‘Judges’ Challenge’ where contestants are challenged to sing songs picked by judges who aren’t their mentors.

The judges comments were mostly positive for Marlisa. Nat said: “That performance has topped your last week’s performance.” Dannii said: “getting better every week.” Redfoo said: “your attitude with the song was perfect. That’s what it takes to be a popstar.” Her coach Ronan said “that should have been a standing ovation for the judges.”

Brothers 3 kicked off  The X Factor Australia  week 7 with this week’s theme ‘Judges’ Challenge’, where contestants are challenged to sing songs picked by judges who aren’t their mentors. Ronan picked the song “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)“, a song written and performed by The Proclaimers. 

Commenting on their performance, Redfoo said: “OMG! That was incredible!” Ronan added: “You guys never let me down. That was fantastic! Nat seemed did not like the performance. Their Coach Dannii was so pleased with the performance.

X Factor Australia’s Country Star Caitlyn Shadbolt  performed “Closer to the Edge,” a song written by Jared Leto and performed by American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars. Caitlyn did a great performance of a Lady Gaga hit song “You and I.”

Commenting on her performance,  Nat said: “you handled yourself so well.” Dannii said: “it was a cool song to sing. you were rocking on that. Congratulations!” Redfoo was unimpressed and said: “a horrible song choice.. probably your worse performance.“

Reigan Derry is definitely one of the frontrunners of The X Factor Australia. She has the third highest votes after last week’s performance. For this weeks Rock Week, she performed “Boys in Town,” a debut single by Australian rock band Divinyls released in 1981.

Commenting on her performance, Ronan started of by saying: “You’re a camelion coz whatever Foo throws in you, you’re incredible!” Nat said: “you’re an Extraordinary talent… you are a record’s company’s dream.” Dannii was impressed with the performance. Her Coach Redfoo finally said: “You connected with it. It’s awesome!“

Brothers 3 Sings Every Teardrop is A Waterfall X Factor Australia Week 6

Brothers 3 emerged as the front runner of The X Factor Australia as revealed in last week’s Live shows. It’s Rock Week and they performed “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall,” a song by British alternative rock band Coldplay.  Brother 3’s performance of ‘Hey Brother’ hit the iTunes Chart for the first time. They are the last remaining group act of the competition.

Commenting on their performance, Redfoo was not impressed and said: “Great song choice.It sounded great but not for the rock week. I felt offended!” Ronan passed on the “Cranky Pants” title to Redfoo and loved the performance. Nat said: “Boys your on your element!” Their Coach Dannii said: “Guys, we are looking for artist that can sell albums! This is you.”

Tee Sings Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ X Factor Australia Week 6 Top 8

Tee (Ofisa Toleafa) takes on a classic Rock song for this week’s X Factor Australia Rock theme.  He performed “Don’t Stop Me Now,” a 1979 song by the English rock band Queen and was written by their lead vocalist Freddie Mercury. 

Mixed comments from the judges. Danii said “Incredible vocal but I just felt like there was some connection that I was missing there. I don’t know what it was.” Redfoo agreed. “I think it was the energy of your body did not match the band. It sounded great but it didn’t make us feel like… ” Ronan said it was a great song choice and he enjoyed it. Nat said that he owned the stage!
