Caitlyn Shadbolt X Factor Australia Live Shows Week 2 Top 12

Caitlyn Shadbolt, the “country girl”from the small town country town Gympie, in Queensland continuous to bring whole country vibe at The X Factor Australia center stage. She performed one of Bon Jovi’s very popular songs, “Blaze of Glory.” It’s country meets rock!

Caitlyn received awesome comments from the judges. Nat said: “It’s so authentic!” Dannii said: “You are now my country princes doll… the dress, the singing, the everything.”  Redfoo added “Great performance. Great outfit. Great singing. You making me like country music more and more.” Her Coach Ronan said “I think it could be you’re time as the country music star.”

Tee (Ofisa Toleafa),  24 years old from Western Sydney, performed at The X Factor Australia stage with her mom,who flew all the way from New Zealand, on the audience to see him perform. Tee has one of the most amazing voices in the competition. His Coach  Nat picked an old anthem by the Beatles “Hey Jude.” 

Dannii started out the judges comments saying: “you sang the song really well. The last half end up into a completely different stratosphere.”  Redfoo added: “you have for sure one of the best voices in the competition. I love your looks. Great song choice.” Ronan said: “that first verse was a holly molly..what a  molly man you are! You’re just unbelievable.” His Coach Nat proudly said: “You’re heart is always on the right place. You give everything every single week and I love it.”

Reigan Derry closed The X Factor Australia first live show last week with a spectacular style singing Katy Perry’s big song “Unconditionally.”  Will she top her performance last week? For the second live show, she is singing a popular song by Britney Spears “Toxic.”

Mixed comments from the judges. Ronan started of by saying: “There is no doubt that you can sing. But there is something on this performance that lost me. It’s not about the voice, it’s about the performance. I felt disconnected.”  Nat said: “I love your voice. I want to buy it. I want to download it now.” Dannii added: “I love how you sang that. It reminds me of Florence and the Machine. Not many people can sing that.” Her Coach Redfoo came to her rescue saying: “I do not know what Ronan was watching. That was the best things I’ve ever seen all my life. It’s a start of Reigan revolution!”

Brothers 3 indeed brought sunshine on the stage of The X Factor Australia! Brother 3 was voted by Australia as the wild card. A huge indication that Australia love these boys. They did a great performance last week. For Week 2, their coach Dannii picked a song from the king of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, with “Always on my Mind.” 

It’s another standing ovation for Brother 3! Commenting on their performance, Redfoo said “you guys are just quality. You’re amazing. Definitely my favorite group in the competition.” Ronan said: “I love it. You’re brilliant in the most unique way. I’m so glad you’re here.” Nat said: “you’re such talented boys but you’re really humble.” Their Coach Dannii said: “you do it really well!”

Marlisa Punzalan has been struck down by illness all week. Her worried Coach Ronan had to cancel their rehearsal. Marlisa had more pressure to prepare for the second live show.  But the youngest contestant of The X Factor Australia put a brave performance singing one of Lady Gaga‘s top charting song  “Paparazzi.”

Nat said: “it takes so much courage to get up there and do that after being sick. Well done. Unbelievable.”  Dannii said: “you look extraondiny, to be able to do that without any rehearsal . Perfect song. Amazing arrangements. You look beautiful. What you did is that give so much eye contact that I haven’t seen before.” Redfoo said: “some of the greatest performers of the world don’t even do what you just did. They will cancel the show. You gave it your 100 percent.”  Her coach Ronan said “You’re such a talent. Well done!”

16 year old Sydnee Carter from Perth, Western Australia sings a song she has never hear before for the 2nd Live Show of The X Factor Australia. It’s out of her comfort zone but surely, she did her very best to sing a Classic Rock and Roll tune, “Live and Let Die” by Paul McCartney & WINGS.  

The judges comments were mixed. Nat said: “I love you as an artist. The verses was so sweet but I didn’t like the chorus.”  Dannii said: “I like the softer bits of it. It is where your voice sits pretty.If you gonna do a song, just totally commit to it.”  Redfoo added “you have a unique look and a unique voice but I feel you have more to give and you’re holding back.”  Her Coach Ronan said “Sydney, let’s remember that you’re 16 years old and I hope Australia realizes that. You’ve come so far!”

XOX (Girl Group)  is made up of Tahnie, Chaska, Nada-Leigh, and Serenity. A group formed by the judges and producers at the bootcamp.  For the 2nd Live Show of  The X Factor Australia, they performed a Katy Perry Song “Last Friday Night.” Introduced by their Coach, Dannii Minogue, as limited edition dolls, these girls started the show really well.

Redfoo was first to comment and he said: “I love the looks. I love the staging and the concept. You guys really look like popstars.” Ronan commented: “I love this performance  but lack a bit of that fire that we saw last week.” Nat said: “you just been put together… it takes time...” Dannii said: “the audience was so loud when you were performing. It’s cute and fun!

Dami Im is back at the X Factor Australia stage! A South Korean-born Australian singer, Dami Im won last year’s  fifth series of The X Factor Australia. She performed on stage a live version of her new single Gladiator.  She describes this song “Gladiator” as “basically about this girl who wants to fight for a boy’s love. Well it can be a boy or a girl, but I sing it so it’s a girl [laughs]. It’s like, “I’m gonna fight for your love, I’m gonna be like a gladiator, strong.” It’s about empowerment. You don’t usually expect a girl to sing about being a gladiator because usually that’s a male thing. But there’s also another meaning behind it — if you see the video later, it will be more clear, but it’s about fighting for yourself, for your confidence, loving yourself, and fighting to achieve that.”
