The youngest contestant, Declan Sykes,  is still in the competition. For this week’s Live Show 7  Ultimate Dance Party! theme, he is up for the challenge singing Walking On A Dream by Empire Of The Sun.  Declan Sykes has a very unique voice and with a personality that is mesmerizing.

Declan Sykes had struggled and had a hard with the judges last week of his rendition of  Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. It didn’t get him to the bottom two though. T’was a big 90s song that was chosen by Declan Sykes for this week fourth live show of the  X-Factor Australia 2011. He picked the famous rock song ” Smells Like Teen Spirit“  by Nirvana.  Will it suit Declan’s unique style and vocal ability?

He started off with a low key and with a lot of distractions in the background, Declan’s performance is probably weak this week. Mel B started of by saying that she felt that as if somebody spiked her drink and into a weird nightmare and wanting to wake up quick. Ronan Keating got lost and disappeared in that performance. He was disappointed. The production did not work for Declan. Natalie Bassingthwaighte thought the song choice was not good and vocally, it was off. Guy Sebastian defended Declan with the song choice and said he did a great performance.

Did you like Declan’s performance Australia? If he will be singing for his life tomorrow, blame it to the poor song choice.

Declan Sykes showed off another side of him singing Life on Mars by David Bowie. He was totally different last night. So far he  got good comments from Ronan Keating congratulating for being diverse and said he had such a beautiful tone to his voice. Natalie Bassingthwaighte  just loved the performance and said it was captivating. Guy Sebastian   added that he was mesmerized of Declan’s performance .

Declan Sykes X Factor AustraliaDeclan Sykes Melbourne audition was impressive with his rendition of “High and Dry” by Radiohead. In fact the had crowd gone wild and gave Declan a standing ovation. He was hilarious and was very entertaining. His Mom was on his side and a big fan of Declan (as expected). He looks weird but surely, he got the X-Factor and can potentially sell records!
