Marlisa Sings Away In A Manger Carols In The Domain 2014

The yearly big Christmas event in Sydney, Carols in the Domain, was another hit with big crowds and massive TV audience taking part to kick-off this year’s Christmas festivities. This year featured successful artists that truly entertained the crowd. People were more united with the aftermath of the Sydney Siege at Martin Place. The Carol in the Domain was a perfect event to heal a city celebrating life and special dedication to the hostages and victims of the siege, 38-year-old barrister and mother of three Katrina Dawson and 34-year-old Lindt store manager Tori Johnson.

This special free concert featured performances from X Factor winner Samantha Jade, tenor Mark Vincent, country music singer Lee Kernaghan, the Wiggles, Christine Anu, the cast of Wicked the Musical, singer and actor Jay Laga’aia and 2014 X Factor winner Marlisa Punzalan.

X Factor winner Marlisa Punzalan  performed  Away in a Manger and A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes from the 1950 Walt Disney film Cinderella. She said in her Facebook page that performing at Carols in the Domain was a childhood dream.

2014 X Factor Australia winner Marlisa Punzalan’s Album Stand By You is already out and so is her official music video. You can watch Stand By You music video below which features Marlisa’s family, friends, relatives, supporters and fans taken mostly in her Mt. Druitt, Sydney, NSW. The video production was simple ( perhaps the budget is cheap too)but it conveys the right message of the song. Congratulations Marlisa!

Her debut single released last month, 20 Oct 2014, went straight to #1 on iTunes Australia Chart, and made it to #1 in other countries in the world including Philippines, where Marlisa’s parents originally came from.

Marlisa performed her audition song ‘Yesterday‘ as she opened her campaign for the title as The X Factor Australia Winner 2014. Her original audition version went viral on Youtube. As of this writing, it attracted over 2 million views!  With this grand finals performance, the judges were so impressed and gave Marlisa a standing ovation.  Her coach Ronan was so proud of her performance and Redfoo was all praise saying:”“What a way to kick off the 2014 Grand Final baby, that was incredible. That was perfect!”

This is it! The much awaited Grand Finals of the X Factor Australia 2014. Marlisa, Brothers 3, and Dean Ray showed their best to impress Australian viewers. Each of these contestants performed their would be Debut Single and will be released as soon as the winner is announced tonight.

For Marlisa, her Debut Single is entitled “Stand by You.”   A laudable performance, standing ovation, and praises from the judges. Redfoo said: “yeah baby! That was a sure hit!
