Marlisa Punzalan Sings Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’ X Factor Australia Week 6 Top 8

It’s Rock Week at The X Factor Australia and Marlisa Punzalan is up for a very risky challenge. She took on a huge song, “Nothing Else Matters,” a power ballad by American heavy metal band Metallica. It’s one of Metallica’s best known and most popular songs and has become a staple in live performances.

The judges comments were very positive as Marlisa got another standing ovation for this performance. Nat said: “Such a huge risk that Ronan gave you but that’s my favorite performance of yours to date. That was awesome.” Dannii said: “You did it! A massive song but this is amazing. You’re voice is improving week on week. The big notes in there  there that reminds me of Celine Dion.” Redfoo said: “you were so passionate. It was fierce. It was aggressive. I love it.” Her coach Ronan said “I’m so proud of you. You are incredible. People will download this song on iTunes.”

Marlisa Punzalan performed a quirky song for the Top 10 hits theme with the song “It’s Oh So Quiet.”  This song was covered by Björk in 1995. It remains her biggest hit, reaching #4 in the UK and spending 15 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and it went to Number #6 in Australia.

Nat said: “love that song. Love your voice.” Dannii said: “Amazing. You look gorgeous.” Redfoo said: “I loved it! I’m glad you took that risk. ” Her coach Ronan said “I’m so proud of you! well done.”

Marlisa Punzalan is definitely back in her best singing form for the songs of the 70s, 80s, 90s and Now theme of The X Factor Australia. Despite being sick last week, she managed to pull off  Lady Gaga‘s “Paparazzi.” For this week, Her coach picked a song from the 70s by Olivia Newton John “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” a theme song of the popular movie “Grease.”

It’s a standing ovation for Marlisa. Nat said: “You took me back. Your vocals are amazing. Outstanding!.” Dannii said: “One of my favorites. Brillian job. Great!” Redfoo said: “That’s really remarkable!” Her coach Ronan said “You have what it takes…”

Marlisa Punzalan has been struck down by illness all week. Her worried Coach Ronan had to cancel their rehearsal. Marlisa had more pressure to prepare for the second live show.  But the youngest contestant of The X Factor Australia put a brave performance singing one of Lady Gaga‘s top charting song  “Paparazzi.”

Nat said: “it takes so much courage to get up there and do that after being sick. Well done. Unbelievable.”  Dannii said: “you look extraondiny, to be able to do that without any rehearsal . Perfect song. Amazing arrangements. You look beautiful. What you did is that give so much eye contact that I haven’t seen before.” Redfoo said: “some of the greatest performers of the world don’t even do what you just did. They will cancel the show. You gave it your 100 percent.”  Her coach Ronan said “You’re such a talent. Well done!”

The youngest contestant of The X Factor Australia Marlisa Punzalan has taken on a monster song by Celine Dion. Singing “All By Myself ” Marlisa showed Australia viewers what she can do. It’s a very risky song to sing but she gave it her best. Marlisa has been a consistent top performer and a strong contender for the title and her coach Ronan thinks she is the strongest competitor.

Mixed comments from the judges but generally she was lauded with her performance. Nat said: “to be standing up there singing a Celine Dion song is ridiculous.” She added by saying Marlisa is awesome and amazing and  that she is a threat to the X Factor competition. Dannii said she looked like an absolute star but added the thought that Ronan picked the wrong song for Marlisa. 

Redfoo defended Ronan’s choice that “he chose a great song for a great singer. She nailed it!  It was amazing!” Her coach Ronan said “Marlisa’s performance  is unbelievable,” adding: “not a lot of people in the world can sing just like that.”

Marlisa Punzalan X Factor Home Visits Performance – 14 year old Marlisa Punzalan have been doing really well since her unforgettable audition performance of  “Yesterday,” a classic song of The Beatles, and taking on a big hit by Jesicca Mauboy with the song “Never Be The Same.”  She has one hurdle to go before she will sing live for Australian TV and will try to win votes from TV viewers to keep her in the competition. Performing in front of her coach, Ronan Keating, and world famous singer John Legend, Marlisa felt the pressure! She performed I’ll Stand By You. Will Ronan stand by Marlisa and take her to the live show? Can Marlisa win it for Ronan?

Marlisa Punzalan The X Factor Australia 2014 BOOTCAMPMarlisa Punzalan The X Factor Australia 2014 Bootcamp – Marliza Punzalan’s fans, especially those in the Western Sydney Suburbs, are happy to know last night results. Marliza was chosen to go to the next round and got the chance to show and perform another strong performance at The X Factor Australia 2014.  She is the youngest of all the remaining competitors. Ronan Keating is now her Coach who is the handling the Girls group.

14 year old Marlisa Punzalan unforgettable audition performance of  “Yesterday,” a classic song of The Beatles is certainly helping her as the competition progresses. Performing again in front of thousands of studio audience, she has taken a big hit by Jesicca Mauboy with the song Never Be The Same.She did really well and got another standing ovation from the judges of X Factor Australia Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Dannii Minogue, and Redfoo. Well done!

One of them, that has been well publicized and was shown maybe thousand times on primetime TV X factor teaser aka X Factor Sneak Peak, is 14 year old Marlisa Punzalan from Western Sydney, NSW. The lovely teenager taking “Yesterday,” a classic song of The Beatles. A shy young teenager but loves performing on big stage! She did really well and got a standing ovation from the mainstay judges of X Factor Australia Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Dannii Minogue, and Redfoo.

Marlisa received 4 Yes votes and she is off to the Bootcamp Stage of this singing competition.
