Here’s a video that looks back to the journey of Sixteen year old Reece Mastin at the The X Factor Australia 2011, from the day of his audition until last night’s victory of winning the X factor Australia 2011 title and a recording contract .

Reece Mastin also shared his thoughts about his best and worst time at the competition. He said that the worst part was when he sang against Christina Parie, his best friend, in the competition. He has been one of the favorites to win the show after delivering flawless and strong performances night after night.

Reece Mastin Wins X Factor Australia 2011 Title

The moment we had been waiting for has come to an end. After 10 weeks of X Factor nights of live shows, Australia voted and have chosen the winner of the X- Factor Australia 2011. The votes were revealed and it was so close with only 1% separating the winner and the runner up.

And the winner is the 16 year old rockstar Reece Mastin! 40 year old Andrew Wishart, was the runner up.

Sing and dance sensation Johnny Ruffo finished third.

What? Sixteen year old Reece Mastin singing with Aussie Superstar Kylie Minoque? What a huge break for this young man. Reece Mastin closed last night’s Grand Finals show of The X Factor Australia 2011 with a duet with Kylie Minogue.

“Kylie Ann Minogue, is an Australian recording artist, songwriter, and actress. After beginning her career as a child actress on Australian television, she achieved recognition through her role in the television soap opera Neighbours, before commencing her career as a recording artist in 1987. Her first single, “Locomotion“, spent seven weeks at number one on the Australian singles chart and became the highest selling single of the decade. This led to a contract with songwriters and producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman. It’s the Ultimate Dance Party! Week at the The X Factor Australia 2011. Songs with disco tunes are expected from the remaining six contestants. Reece Mastin sang Stayin’ Alive which is a song by the pop group Bee Gees from the Saturday Night Fever motion picture soundtrack. Reece Mastin didn’t really sang it the way Bee Gees did it but instead put a touch of rock tune and tried to make it his own.

Week in and week out Reece Mastin continues to impress Australian audience. For this week’s theme “Number 1s” songs or artists, Reece sang Maroon 5’s She Will Be Loved. Accompanied by a violinist on the stage, Reece show off another side of his vocal ability. Do you think this performance can hit or be at par with number 1 hits? You’ll be the judge.

Reece is definitely one of the judges favorites. As expected, he received all positive comments. Mel B thought Reece was amazing and he can definitely sing any song with his own version. Ronan Keating said Reece was brilliant, got the X factor, and he could go all the way to the finals. Natalie Bassingthwaighte was glad that Reece got “his gun out” and it’s about time to show that side of him as an artist. Guy Sebastian said Reece is a superstar and connected with the song. Isn’t this Ironic? Reece Mastin doing another girl’s song! He picked Ironic by Alanis Morissette. You can love it or hate it. Reece has a wonderful voice and no question about that. Doing a makeover of a wonderful song is like a double-edged sword. It can be dreadful or can raise up an artist overnight.

Mel B didn’t like it and she’s not sure if she hated it or love it. Ronan Keating said Reece owned the stage and it was a fantastic performance. Natalie Bassingthwaighte thought Reece was a bit nervous at the beginning but she said it’s her favorite performance.
