It’s the Ultimate Dance Party! Week at the The X Factor Australia 2011. Songs with disco tunes are expected from the remaining six contestants. Reece Mastin  sang Stayin’ Alive which is a song by the pop group Bee Gees from the Saturday Night Fever motion picture soundtrack. Reece Mastin didn’t really sang it the way Bee Gees did it but instead put a touch of rock tune and tried to make it his own.

There were mixed comments from the four judges arguing about the arrangement and song choice. Find out what Mel B,  Ronan Keating,  Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Guy Sebastian about Reece’s performance.

Ronan started of with a comment that Christina Parie can go home with this performance. Christina Parie sang Killing Heidi’s first single “Weir” which was released in August 1999 and reached #6 on the ARIA charts.

Christina Parie’‘s performance received a lengthy discussions at the four judges table.  Ronan Keating said he don’t want Christina to be out of the show. That performance wasn’t good enough and not a good song choice. She can go home with that performance.  Natalie Bassingthwaighte agreed with Ronan and she felt Christina is losing confidence. Guy Sebastian mentioned that Christina can do better than that performance. Mel B defended Christina and thought she nailed it.

A huge rock solid performance for Reece Mastin this week as he had to sing a Wolfmother song called Joker and  The Thief.  Wolfmother is an Australian rock band from Erskineville, Sydney.  Reece is so far one of the most consistent performers of the X Factor 2011 Australia.

Live Show 6 of the  X- Factor Australia 2011 was dubbed as the Aussie Songs Week. The top 7 sing songs that were popularized and made by Australians. Country Boy Mitchell Callaway wanted to sing a Keith Urban song but again, he is not getting what he wanted to do. His mentor must be saving it for last. Maybe.   Mitchell Callaway instead sang Throw Your Arms Around Me – by Hunters and Collectors.

Not a bad song and suited his voice well.  Guy Sebastian  said Mitchell brought that song to life. Mel B enjoyed Mitchell’s performance and she said it’s another solid performance. She just wanted Mitchell to enjoy performing and to engage more  with his audience.  Ronan Keating said it was a great performance but a bit shaky in the beginning. Natalie Bassingthwaighte was extremely proud of Mitchell.

Will Christina Parie  deliver another Number 1 performance this week? It’s the Number 1s week theme of the  X- Factor Australia 2011.  Last week, Christina soared to top as she received the first standing ovation from the four judges Guy Sebastian, Mel B, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, and Ronan Keating  with her Impressive Performance of Zombie by the Cranberries.  A huge pressure for this young Sydney teenager coming in for this week!

Christina sang Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus.  This song was massively successful in Australia, spending four weeks at #1 and becoming the second-highest selling single of the year. For sure, she will be definitely safe for another week.

It’s a bit odd to sing a song that you think won’t show what kind of artist you are. That is no exception to “Country Boy” Mitchell Callaway. Thousands of Number 1 Billboard Country Songs  to choose from like those from Garth Brooks, George Strait, Willie Nelson, Keith Urban, etc. but Natalie  picked Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction for Mitchell. A poor song choice in a very though competition like X- Factor Australia 2011 can potentially send home a contestant  no matter how vocally perfect he/she would do on that song.

Is Guy Sebastian becoming a nemesis of Mitchell?  Another controversial comment from Guy but that what the show is all about. Create controversy so it will sell to audience.  Mel B butt in to cut-off Guy’s long comments and said that the performance was knocked out and very entertaining.  Ronan Keating said it was a bad song choice but vocally great and the performance was great.  Natalie Bassingthwaighte defended Mitchell saying “Mitchell is a star” and that performance sounds really good.

T’was a big 90s song that was chosen by Declan Sykes for this week fourth live show of the  X-Factor Australia 2011. He picked the famous rock song ” Smells Like Teen Spirit“  by Nirvana.  Will it suit Declan’s unique style and vocal ability?

He started off with a low key and with a lot of distractions in the background, Declan’s performance is probably weak this week. Mel B started of by saying that she felt that as if somebody spiked her drink and into a weird nightmare and wanting to wake up quick. Ronan Keating got lost and disappeared in that performance. He was disappointed. The production did not work for Declan. Natalie Bassingthwaighte thought the song choice was not good and vocally, it was off. Guy Sebastian defended Declan with the song choice and said he did a great performance.

Did you like Declan’s performance Australia? If he will be singing for his life tomorrow, blame it to the poor song choice.

Dubbed as the X-Factor “Rock Chick,” Christina Parie is definitely delivered the strongest performance in the 4th Live Show of X- Factor Australia 2011. It was an amazing performance with all the four judges Guy Sebastian, Mel B, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, and Ronan Keating stand to their feet. It’s the first time in the show for a standing ovation and with the audience so ecstatic.

Christina picked The Cranberries’ Zombie and she sang it beautifully while showcasing her talent on the piano. A very brave performance showing a Lady Gaga‘s style and showing a very different side of her. She will be definitely safe for another week! Enjoy her performance.

Country Boy Mitchell Callaway had survived last week’s huge controversy.  It’s a though call to perform confidently in front of millions of Australian viewers and so Mitchell was basically singing for his life at the 4th Live Show of the X- Factor Australia 2011 to stay in the competition. For this week, Song of the 90s, he picked a song that can exactly connect with his present situation. It’s called Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. . Mitchell injected his country voice to this song.

Guy Sebastian  gave Michell a very generous comment saying that was almost vocally perfect and it was a great song choice. Mel B commended Mitchell for a confident performance but said it’s a bit dull overall performance. Ronan Keating said Mitchell grown the most of the contest and singing for his life, he did an incredible job. Natalie Bassingthwaighte  defended Mitchell saying ” that to call it a dull performance is absolutely crazy.”
