Tee Sings Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ X Factor Australia Week 6 Top 8

Tee (Ofisa Toleafa) takes on a classic Rock song for this week’s X Factor Australia Rock theme.  He performed “Don’t Stop Me Now,” a 1979 song by the English rock band Queen and was written by their lead vocalist Freddie Mercury. 

Mixed comments from the judges. Danii said “Incredible vocal but I just felt like there was some connection that I was missing there. I don’t know what it was.” Redfoo agreed. “I think it was the energy of your body did not match the band. It sounded great but it didn’t make us feel like… ” Ronan said it was a great song choice and he enjoyed it. Nat said that he owned the stage!

Rochelle Pitt Sings Gossip’s ‘Heavy Cross’ X Factor Australia Week 6 Top 8

The “Soul Mama” Rochelle Pitt rocking it out after a disastrous performance in last week’s X Factor Australia live show. But Australia absolutely love her. She received the fourth highest votes last week. For this Rock Week theme, She sings “Heavy Cross, a song by American band Gossip that was certified triple gold selling over 450,000 copies and is, as of September 2010, the “most successful internationally produced single of all times.”

Ronan said  “it’s great to see on stage performing like that again.” Nat said “I didn’t like the song for you but I do love your fight!” Danii said: “You’re fighting too hard. You’re trying to push it! ” Her coach Redfoo said in defense: “the song choice was perfect for you. It’s rock and roll. I love it!”

Dean Ray Sings INXS’s ‘New Sensation’ X Factor Australia Live Shows Week 6 Top 8

It’s Rock week at The X Factor Australia!  Dean Ray started the night’s live show with top charting song “New Sensation” by the Australian rock group INXS. Dean Ray got the 2nd highest votes revealed in last weeks’ results show. 

The judges comments were all positive. Dannii said: “the vocals were perfect and command the stage. A true rockstar!” Redfoo added “You just doing what you’re doing!” Ronan said “Great Job, man!” Her coach Nat said: “Stay true to who you are..just Dean Ray.”

Tee (Ofisa Toleafa) had a tough week last week for being at the bottom 2 and had to sing-off against XOX to stay in the competition. Now he’s back and he performed “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” a very popular song by Canadian recording artist Drake. This song peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100, and was named the best song of 2013 by Pitchfork Media.

Dean Ray is probably one of the most consistent performers of The X Factor Australia. He gets standing ovations every time he performs. This week, he sing “Budapest,” a hit single by British singer-songwriter George Ezra. 

The judges comments were all positive.  Dannii said: “Crusing along but it so perfect. Awesome. Awesome vocal.” Redfoo added “The way you did it is so perfect! Well done. Perfect!” Ronan said “You are exceptional. You’re brilliant. Thanks for coming to X Factor!” Nat said: “This is the beginning for something very special for you. Your vocals are amazing!”

Brothers 3 Sings ‘Pompeii’ X Factor Australia Live Shows Week 5 Top 9

Brothers 3 performed “Pompeii,” a song by British rock band Bastille, for Week 5 of The X Factor Australia Live shows. Last week, Brother 3‘s performance of ‘Hey Brother’  hit the iTunes Chart for the first time. They are the last remaining group act of the competition. 

Commenting on their performance, Redfoo said “I think it was good but it wasn’t great. There was no moment that stood out for me.” Ronan agreed with Foo’s comments. Nat said: “I can see you growing each and every week. It’s charming to watch.” Their Coach Dannii said: “You’re the most improved week after week!”

16 year old Sydnee Carter is definitely has one of the beautiful voices of X Factor Australia. Unfortunately, she was at the bottom last week. This week, she is taking on a very popular song ‘Say Something,’ a song by American pop duo A Great Big World. This song topped the singles charts in Australia, Belgium, and Canada. 

The judges comments were all positive. Nat said: “that is exquisite. What a great song for you.” Dannii said: “She’s back! Amazing song choice.” Redfoo added ” that was really poetic. I’m glad you took the risk.” Her Coach Ronan said “You did it!”

Brothers 3 took on a club music “Hey Brother,” a dance song by Swedish DJ and producer Avicii for Week 4 of the The X Factor Australia Live shows. “Hey Brother” peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart on 15 December 2013. Last year, it went to #2 in Australia and #1 in Austria. This young Brother 3 band is massively gaining popularity in Australia after performing Elvis Presley’s “Always on my Mind” and last week’s incredible performance of a Melbourne anthem ARIA top chart song by Things of Stone and Wood‘s ‘Happy Birthday Helen‘.

Commenting on their performance, Redfoo said “That was so wonderful.. so dynamic.. just phenomenal!” Ronan said: “You really impressed me. So entertaining… So passionate…You sound great. ” Nat said: “You are also enthusiastic! Well done.” Their Coach Dannii said: “you took on a club disco and you made it happen!”

Rochelle Pitt Sings ‘Proud Mary’ X Factor Australia Week 4 Top 10

“Soul Mama” Rochelle Pitt, performed one of the top 10 hits of the legendary singer Tina Turner’ s ‘Proud Mary’. This song reached #4 on the pop charts on March 27, 1971, two years to the week after Creedence Clearwater Revival’s version was at its peak, and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Group in 1972.

Definitely a ‘wow’ performance this week. She’s on fire! Danii said it’s brilliant and she’s nailed it. Redfoo said Tina Turner will be proud of this performance. Rochelle has a great performance last week singing the famous song by an X Factor finalist in the UK, Rebecca Fergusson, ‘Nothings Real But Love.’
