Andrew Wishart forte is obviously not the rock genre but wait until you see his Rock Week performance at  the  X- Factor Australia 2011. This 40 years old bloke, who is a sales manager by profession, sang  Cheap Trick’s The Flame. This song is about vocal capability and connectedness. Did Andrew did enough? Watch how he did it on the video below.

Guy Sebastian said it was an incredible performance and he said Andrew is a trusted vocalist. Mel B wanted Adrew to toughen a bit and rock it out last night. Ronan Keating was positive and was moved with Andrew’s performance. Natalie Bassingthwaighte said Andrew just nailed it. But Andrew needs the vote of Australian viewers to stay in the competition. Australia  voted for the second time and the results were out on the second elimination show last night at Channel 7‘s  X-factor Australia 2011.   The acts voted by Australian audience to stay in the competition are : Young Mens Society,  Reece Mastin, Declan Sykes, Johnny Ruffo,  Christina Parie, Three Wishez, Audio Vixen,   Andrew Wishart, and Mitchell Callaway.

Mel B’s two girls Tyla Bertolli and Jacqui Newland were the bottom two. Tyla Bertolli’s 2nd live show performance  last Monday really put her at the edge of glory. Mel B’s creative idea didn’t work for Tyla and was outperformed by Jacquie Newland, who was at last week’s bottom two, in their final showdown. Tyla was finally sent home by Judges Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, and Mel B.

Watch Tyla’s final performance. End of the road for this young singer at the X Factor 2011 but she had shown Australia that indeed, she has the X Factor and can move on with her singing career.

It’s a bit bizarre for Reece to choose a girl’s song but it’s not new in the competition after a similar approach made by his fellow contestant Michell Callaway singing a Rihana song last week.

Last night, 20 September 2011, was the first elimination show at the X Factor Australia 2011 competition. We have seen the top 12 live performances on the 21st of September 2011 and it was for Australian viewers to vote and decide who will they be sending home based on those performances.
