Today is White Ribbon Day! A National Day to Stop Men’s Violence against Women
The White Ribbon Campaign is the largest global male-led movement to stop violence against women. It engages and enables men and boys to lead this social change. White Ribbon is Australia’s only national, male-led campaign to end men’s violence against women. The campaign recognises the positive role that men play in preventing men’s violence against women, based on the understanding that most men aren’t violent. It’s about preventing violence by changing attitudes and behaviors. The prevention work is driven through social marketing, the Ambassador Program and prevention initiatives with communities, schools, universities, sporting codes and workplaces.
I will stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women.

“Thousands of people in Sydney have taken part in the annual White Ribbon Walk from Randwick to Coogee Beach. The walk aims to raise awareness about violence against women and raise funds for White Ribbon Australia. At Coogee Beach, participants took the vow: “I will stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women”…. So far today police in Australia would have dealt with, on average, 284 domestic violence matters.” Read news article here..
